Every vehicle in 7th Armoured is now fully marked and waiting to be varnished.

I’ve used a mix of decals, including the excellent set from the Mirage Grant kit, but I ran out of Aleran formation signs and had to raid the spares box! Luckily, every model kit ever made has a jerboa decal or two in it so I soon had enough. The oldest were from a Matchbox Comet from about 1984 - still in good Nick - which I used on the Morris.
A quick note about decal placement. Formation signs go on the left of the vehicle (near side, in UK motoring parlance) and arm of service on the right (offside). Note this is in relation to the vehicle, not as you look at it. However, I followed Ken Jones’ Almark guide which places formation signs on the right (offside) at the front of soft transport. Looking at photos it seems there was no hard and fast rule in the desert anyway, but I’m sticking with Ken!
I’m also in two minds over the General’s charger. This is a venerable Airfix 1/76 Crusader (against the Armourfast 1/72 shows how wonkily scaled most Crusader kits are) which I have already put a commander in. I should have left it empty to leave room for a mini Strafer Gott, but too late now. I have the spare 2pdr turret so he can go in that.
I put in an order with Grubby for the infantry last night, so hopefully I will have the lot finished before the end of September.
